Limited edition vinyl album ‘GOLDEN’

Mike Batt’s Dramatico Entertainment record label is releasing a vinyl album to celebrate 50 years of the Wombles pop group.

GOLDEN will be a limited edition of 500, containing all of The Wombles’ singles in chronological order, and comes with a signed postcard of the front cover image.

It will also feature the rare Wombling USA as a bonus track, which will be released as a single at the same time. Wombling USA was recorded around the time of the Superwombling album, and was previously only available as a B-side on the cassette single of I Wish It Could Be A Wombling Merry Christmas Every Day in 2000.

The album will be out on 21 June, marking the anniversary of The Wombles having their first three singles in the UK charts all at the same time (The Wombling Song, Remember You’re A Womble and Banana Rock). With two more singles later that year, they became the biggest singles act of 1974.
